Your rights

You own your lyrics. Here’s the proof.

Every claim on this page is a verbatim quote from our Terms of Service or Privacy Policy. Both are legally binding. We wrote this page because worried users shouldn’t have to read 5,000 words of legal copy to get a clean answer.

Last reviewed against the Terms + Privacy Policy on 2026-05-04. If you spot a discrepancy between this page and either source document, the source documents win and we fix this page within 7 days.

5-second answer

You own everything you put into SongForgeAI and everything it produces for you. We don’t claim copyright. We don’t train AI models on your content. You can record, release, license, and sync your output without attribution or royalty back to us.

That’s the full answer. The rest of this page is the receipts.

1. What you own

Your input — every prompt, idea, draft, refinement.

Whatever you bring to SongForgeAI stays yours. We don’t claim a co-writer credit. We don’t claim a royalty share. We don’t take a cut of downstream licensing.

“You retain full ownership of any original prompts, ideas, lyrics, or drafts you provide to the Service, including drafts submitted for refinement. We do not claim any copyright, publishing, or other proprietary interest in your input content.”
— Terms of Service, §4

Your output — every forged song, every refined draft.

The five most important words in our Terms: “we assign that interest to you.” That’s the legal mechanism that converts the song the AI helped produce into your song — not co-owned, not licensed-from-us, yours. You can record it, release it on Spotify, license it for film/TV sync, sell it to a publisher, bring it into a co-write — all without us in the chain of title.

“To the extent SongForgeAI holds any copyright or other proprietary interest in lyrics or other output produced by the Service in response to your inputs, we assign that interest to you, subject to the operational license below. You are free to record, perform, release, license, sync, and otherwise commercialize this output without attribution or royalty back to SongForgeAI.”
— Terms of Service, §4

The fine print: an “operational license” only.

We need a narrow license to actually run the Service for you — to store your songs in your account, show them on your dashboard, and process them through the forge pipeline. That license:

  • Exists only while your account is active
  • Is non-exclusive (you keep all your rights)
  • Is royalty-free in both directions
  • Cannot be used for training, advertising, or redistribution
“This license exists only to operate the Service for you; we do not use it for training, advertising, redistribution, or any other purpose outside your account.”
— Terms of Service, §4

2. We do not train AI models on your content

This is the question worried users ask most often, so we wrote it directly into the Privacy Policy. Not just our models — any model, ours or third-party, never gets fed your creative content as training data.

“We do not train any evaluation or generation models on your creative content. Not our models, not third-party models. If we ever offer an opt-in research or training program, it will be a separate, clearly labeled, revocable consent flow — never a default, never implied. Your silence is never consent.”
— Privacy Policy, §3

What about Anthropic (the AI provider)? We send prompts to Anthropic’s Claude API under their commercial agreement, which contractually excludes API traffic from training. Their privacy policy backs this up; we audit the integration so the contract is honored.

3. Who sees your lyrics

By default: only you. Songs are stored privately in your account. They become visible to others only when YOU explicitly toggle a song to “public” from the dashboard or share a song link.

Service providers that handle data as needed to operate the Service: Anthropic (AI processing), Supabase (storage), Vercel (hosting), Stripe (payments only — never sees your lyrics), Google (OAuth login if you choose it). We do not sell user data to anyone, and we do not share data outside this list except as required by law.

“We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with: service providers necessary to operate the Service (Supabase, Vercel, Anthropic, Google (authentication via OAuth), Stripe (payment processing)); and as required by law.”
— Privacy Policy, §6

4. The right to leave

You can delete any song from your dashboard at any time — that removes it from our servers immediately along with its associated evaluations and refinement history. You can also delete your entire account; we honor it.

“Deleting a song removes it from your account immediately. Associated evaluations and refinement history are deleted alongside it. Aggregate craft-telemetry rows (composite score, prosody warning count, emotional-arc classification, etc.) remain in our internal metrics pipeline to support the public craft-metrics report, but they carry no reference to your identity, song title, or lyric content — only genre-level and build-level slices, and only when a slice exceeds a 30-row minimum threshold.”
— Privacy Policy, §7

You can also export your full data at any time by emailing support@songforgeai.com. Your songs ship in the same Suno-ready format you see in the dashboard.

5. Why you can verify, not just trust

Every score response from SongForgeAI carries a cryptographic reproducibility seal — an ed25519 signature that binds the score to the rubric version, AI model, temperature, and exact build SHA that produced it. Anyone with the public key can verify the seal independently.

Why this matters for IP: if anyone ever questions the authorship arrangement on a song you released, the seal proves exactly when and how the AI participated. You don’t have to trust us; you can verify.

If anything here doesn’t match your expectations: 30-day refund.

If something about the IP arrangement doesn’t fit how you work, email support@songforgeai.com within 30 days for a full refund. No questions, no negotiation, no retention call. We’d rather have an honest customer than a stuck one.
