Who’s behind SongForgeAI.

One person, a rubric, and a writing room of expert voices.

“Lyrics that feel lived. Not lyrics that merely sound like songs. Lyrics that sound like someone was in the room.”

I didn't plan to build an AI songwriting platform.

A couple of years ago, my son showed me Suno, and I started making songs. I've been making them ever since — hundreds of them, across country, worship, jazz, and whatever the evening seemed to ask for.

But the same thing kept happening with the lyrics. The words were fluent and forgettable. They rhymed. They scanned. They said the right emotional things in the right emotional places. But too often, nobody had actually lived them.

So I spent the next two years building what I wished existed: not one model doing one pass, but a writing room of expert voices arguing over each song, and a scoring system that refuses to flatter a weak draft.

That work became SongForgeAI.

The point is simple: lyrics that feel lived. Not lyrics that merely sound like songs. Lyrics that sound like someone was in the room.

My life has taught me that words are for carrying something real. SongForgeAI is my attempt to bring that belief into AI-assisted songwriting — to help people move past fluent drafts and toward songs with truth, specificity, and weight.

SongForgeAI is the room I wish I'd had when I started.

The category we’re claiming

Lyric Scoring. The 12-metric rubric, published openly at /scoring/standard. Anyone can score their own lyrics against it. Every song we forge is scored against it. Every result is telemetered and publicly aggregated.

No competitor publishes their rubric. Most don’t have one. The bet: over time, “does this score well on the SongForgeAI rubric?” becomes a useful signal even for songs written without SongForgeAI.
