The fine print

  • Rate limit: 5 scores per visitor IP per 24 hours. Most blog readers will never hit it; a scraper-style abuser will hit the wall fast.
  • Cost to you: $0. We absorb the API cost as a top-of-funnel investment. The widget cites SongForgeAI on every render; that's the trade.
  • Cost to your readers: $0. No signup, no payment, no API key. Paste lyrics → see score.
  • Methodology: the same rubric documented at /scoring/standard (CC BY 4.0). External scorers can build against the same specification.
  • Attribution: the widget shows “powered by SongForgeAI” in the header and a “forge your own” CTA in the footer. Both link out in NEW TABS so your reader keeps their session in your blog.
  • No tracking: the embed doesn't set cookies or read referrer for analytics. Lyrics are sent to /api/embed/score, scored, returned. Nothing persists per-visitor server-side beyond the rate-limit bucket.
  • Service-level promise: best-effort. If you're running serious traffic + need guarantees, the B2B API offers SLA-backed scoring with API keys.
